Old habits die Hard- Kalonzo warns Raila Odinga hours after Nasa rally

Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, has expressed his concerns that the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) honcho Raila Odinga, is blocking his dreams of becoming NASA presidential candidate.

Kalonzo has continuously asked Raila to shelve his presidential ambitions and back him for the country’s top seat saying he is best suited to topple Jubilee Party’s Uhuru Kenyatta in the August-scheduled General Election.

On Sunday, February 5, the Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, reiterated the same  while touring parts of Kisii and Nyamira counties.

The former vice president asked Raila to step aside and allow him to fly the Opposition flag, he said: “Safari hii namwambia ndugu yangu Raila akae kando anifuate hapa tupeleke Jubilee nyumbani (This time round I am telling my brother Raila to step aside and help me send Jubilee home)”.

Kalonzo went on to add that it is time NASA found a fresh candidate, alluding to Raila losing in three past elections. which according to Kalonzo, he has sacrificed a lot for the former Prime Minister and his (Raila) time had arrived for him to return the favour.

His calls come just days after Nasa unveiled a 12-member team that will help select the best combination among Opposition leaders to fill that presidential candidate and running mate slots.

Kalonzo’s recent tirade could however be expressing fears that Raila was going to be identified as most popular candidate among the four principals. Others who want to fly the Opposition’s flag are ANC’s Musalia Mudavadi and his Ford Kenya counterpart Moses Wetangula.
