The Jubilee Party wants Raila Odinga and a number relatives investigated for abuse of office and extortion. This comes in after Raila Odinga and a number of his relatives were implicated in a financial scandal where they extorted a foreigner to give them millions of shillings.
Speaking at a press conference on Sunday, February 12, Leader of Majority Aden Duale and the Jubilee Head of Secretariat Raphael Tuju demanded that Raila confirm or clarify his dealings with Burges.

“Today, Honorable Raila Odinga has not spoken. We want to know the role of Raila and his relatives in this Dominion Farms scandal. He should call a press conference and clarify this matter the way he enjoys calling for pressers from his house and office and clear the air,
“I challenge him to come and answer questions regarding this matter. Mr Calvin confirmed that Raila extorted money from Dominion Farms many times. Raila should either clarify or confirm if he has ever done what he is being accused of,” said Duale.
This comes in just the other day when Burgess has accused Raila and politicians associated with him of frustrating his business through extortion, violence and eviction threats.
He alleges that his troubles began when he refused to fund Raila and his ODM party. “… Raila began demanding for me to support him politically with large sums of money. I explained that the US law called “The Foreign Corrupt Practices Act” did not allow me to do this and would result in the end of the farm, my imprisonment and a $2 million (Sh207 million) fine in the US,” he said in a statement last week.
Tuju also dared Raila and his allies to clarify if they took KSh 105 million paid to a shady Indian company, Godvari Enterprises to conduct a feasibility study. This is in line with ODM controlled counties shelling out huge sums of money to send people to woo investors abroad.
Tuju and Duale also called on the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations to investigate Raila, Jakoyo Midiwo, Ruth Odinga, Oburu Odinga and his cousin, Cornel Rasanga for extortion and abuse of office.
The opposition had earlier claimed Jubilee had put Calvin Burges up to these accusations when the foreigner called a press conference on Tuesday, February 7, to accuse Raila of frustrating him and his business because he refused to give him millions of shillings.
