Raila’s Spokesman Dennis Onyango said Odinga was treated and discharged at the Karen hospital. This comes just a day before the NASA leader leaves for South Africa to visit his ailing daughter Rosemary Odinga.

The NASA co-principal is currently recuperating at his Karen residence, Onyango says. Odinga missed the Devolution Conference in Naivasha in the process.

“Raila Odinga was taken ill Wednesday morning. He was rushed to Karen Hospital, where he was diagnosed with food poisoning. He was treated and discharged. Odinga was to close the Devolution Conference in Naivasha on Thursday, March 8, but he won’t attend. Instead, NASA co-principal Moses Wetangula will represent him,” Onyango said.

Odinga’s second-born daughter was also flown to South Africa last week for further treatment after being in hospital in Kenya for over a week.
