World Leaders, Celebrities React To The Death Of Former Ghana Leader Jerry John Rawlings

Nigeria President Muhammadu Buhari has sent his condolences to the government and people of Ghana following the death of their former President, Jerry Rawlings.

President Buhari said the entire African continent would miss the better qualities of Ghana’s great leader.

“A great tree don fall, and Ghana is poorer for the loss,” this are the words of Ghana President, Nana Akufo-Addo as he reacts to death of the country’s former leader, Jerry John Rawlings.

President Akufo-Addo said he has given order to fly Ghana flags at half-mast for the next seven (7) days at all parts of the country and declare seven (7) days of morning from Friday 13th November to Friday 20th November to honour Jerry Rawlings.

He also added saying he has suspended the political campaign for this period of mourning to respect late Rawlings.

Also, Liberian president, George Weah also sends his condolence to the government and people of Ghana

George weah in his tweet said: “On behalf of the government and people of the Republic of Liberia, and in my own name, I wish to convey the deepest and profound sympathy to the government and people of Ghana, the Rawlings family and the entire Africa for the death of a great statesman, Former President.”

“Ghana, Liberia and Africa would miss a great leader. Liberia remembers his big contribution to the attainment and sustainment of peace during our dark days of our own history.”

Former Nigeria senate president, Abubakar Bukola Saraki and wife Toyin Saraki also react to the death of Jerry Rawlings.

Mr Saraki said Jerry Rawlings always lead from the front and match his words wit actions.
