Military officers are currently in a gun battle with unknown armed men at Ebele village in Ningbo, Ohaukwu Local government area of Ebonyi State.
According to Daily Trust, the clash is happening around the Agila community in Benue state which shares a boundary with Ngbo in the Ohaukwu local government area of Ebonyi state.
The clash between the two communities has led to the death of residents and properties worth millions destroyed.
Meanwhile, the casualty figures from the clash at the time of filing this report are not clear.
The attack was confirmed by the Commissioner for Internal Security and Border Peace, Stanley Okoro Emegha.
“We have not gotten the exact number of persons killed if any or those wounded because the security operatives who were dispatched to the area are still there engaging the attackers.
“But we suspect that the attackers were not herdsmen but Agila people from Benue, and you know that our people have been having a boundary dispute with them.
“So, there is no figure yet from them, so wait till then,” he said.
The Commissioner of police in the state, Aliyu Garba, while speaking with newsmen noted that he has drafted his men to the area to forestall any break of law and order.
