The Federal High Court in Kano, presided over by Justice Abdullahi Muhammad Liman, has prohibited the Kano State Government from borrowing N10 billion for the installation of CCTV cameras.

Kano First Forum (KFF), which filed a motion exparte on June 27 and was sworn to by the Association’s Director-General, Dr. Yusuf Isyaka-Rabiu, issued the order.

The organization requested the court to halt the Governor of Kano from borrowing a N10 billion loan on the grounds that he had broken the norms and regulations governing loan transactions through the representation of lawyer Barr. Badamasi Suleiman-Gandu.

Justice Liman mandated that the plaintiff serve copies of the ruling and originating summons on the Federal Ministry of Finance, the Debt Management Office, and the Fiscal Responsibility Commission in addition to prohibiting the state government from borrowing the funds.
