The Practical Christian Church’s Reverend Minister Wendy Asare, who resides in Texas, has counseled other clergy to rely on churchgoers for support.
She argued that pastors should work additional occupations and refrain from making undue expectations on their congregations.
The lady of God also acknowledged that it is not a bad idea for pastors to have side occupations in an interview with SVTV, a Ghanaian-based YouTube channel, which Modernghana News watched.
“Someone can assert that they are called to full-time ministry by God. God talked to him when I wasn’t there. But I suggest getting a part-time job while you continue to serve God, she said.
“That will be a prudent move to avoid putting pressure on the church members,” said Rev. Wendy Asare. You don’t necessarily need to take a job to become independent, in my opinion.
The perceptive Reverend also suggested that the difficulties faced by churches during the COVID era might not have been as bad if many pastors had jobs.
“During the pandemic, churches were impacted, and many of them fell apart. However, you might have made it by working, she stated on SVTV Africa.
