Suleiman Adamu, the minister of water resources, has been given 90 days by President Muhammadu Buhari to create a thorough plan of action to prevent a flood calamity in Nigeria.
According to the president’s spokeswoman, Garba Shehu, Buhari issued the order in a letter that was dated and signed by Ibrahim Gambari, his chief of staff.
In order to establish the plan, Buhari gave the minister instructions to work with the environment and transportation ministries as well as the state governments.
Additionally, it was revealed that Buhari “often receives reports on the country’s flooding condition and reiterates his commitment towards addressing the issues brought on by the tragedy in the country.”
