Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Labour Party, will no longer participate in discussions where “surrogates of top presidential candidates represent them,” according to Doyin Okupe, director general of the Obi-Datti Campaign Organization.

Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress’s presidential candidate, skipped the presidential town hall meeting that Arise TV had scheduled for him. Ifeanyi Okowa, Atiku Abubakar’s running mate for the Peoples Democratic Party, also attended the ceremony.

On November 7, Okupe announced during a news conference that Obi would no longer participate in debates with running mates’ surrogates and would pull out of any debate if other contenders for president failed to show up.
