Veteran highlife musician, Amakye Dede has stated emphatically that his hometown Agogo in the Asante Akim North Municipality of the Ashanti Region is internationally recognized due to his contributions in music, MyNewsGh.com can report.
According to him, it is one of the reasons he was recently enstooled as a chief in the area in recognition of the honour done the chiefs and people of the area promising to do more in order to uplift the image of the area.
“Today if you come to Asante Akim, you will see I have built a hotel and established Abrantie Spot bigger than what is in Accra in my hometown Agogo. It is also through music I have marketed Agogo which has gained international recognition. It is for this reason the Omanhene of Agogo Traditional Area, Nana Kwame Akuoko-Sarpong saw that I have through music helped Agogo, Asante Akim and Ghana and enstooled me as a chief with the name Berima Okyeredom Amakye Dede I”, he revealed.
