General Muhoozi Kainerugaba of the Ugandan Army has declared that the country of East Africa will stand by Russian President Vladimir Putin if he is attacked.
Muhoozi, the president Yoweri Museveni’s son, declared that Uganda would send troops to Moscow if it became essential to assist Putin in battling what he called “imperialists.”
“Call me a ‘Putinist’ if you will, but we, Uganda shall send soldiers to defend Moscow if it’s ever threatened by the Imperialists!” he tweeted on March 30, 2023.
Muhoozi, the controversial figure behind the “Muhoozi Movement,” is rumoured to be considering running for president in the upcoming elections. He frequently shares contentious opinions on Twitter about politics, diplomacy, and his personal life.
He recently criticized some Ugandan journalists for choosing to travel to Kiev to cover the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
“In Africa, we only believe in President Putin when it comes to Eastern Europe. The West is wasting its time with its useless pro-Ukraine propaganda. Russia, China, Africa, India, South America shall win in Ukraine. 75% of humanity shall win against 15%,” another of his pro-Russia tweets read.
