Parliament’s privileges committee has decided to hold on to its report about MP, Kennedy Agyapong .This would create room for a first report to be read before the second one follows .

The first report concerned Agyapong’s description of Parliament as useless and the second was due to comments he passed about murdered investigative journalist, Ahmed Hussein-Suale The privileges committee of Parliament has shelved its report on allegations levelled against the Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong. Starrfm.com.gh reports that this is because there is another report on a matter that involves Agyapong.

For that reason, the chairman of the committee, Joseph Osei Owusu, stated that his committee is waiting for the other report brought before it, so that it can take a decision.

Owusu disclosed that one report concerned Agyapong’s utterances, which were deemed to have slighted Parliament and its majority leader, Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu. The other report, YEN.com.gh understands, was about a complaint lodged by the minority chief whip and MP for Asawase, Muntaka Mubarak Mohammed.

The speaker of Parliament, Professor Michael Aaron Ocquaye, stated that the committee should present the report on the first case, before proceeding to the next one. The first instance involved a description by Agyapong of Parliament as a “useless” institution.

The second report concerned comments made by Agyapong, concerning the death of investigative journalist, Ahmed Hussein-Suale. He was captured in a video, calling on people to assault Ahmed, if he is found in or around the premises of his company.
