Zhao stated in a tweet sent on Sunday, June 18, that they have sent a cease and desist notice to the con artist entity “Binance Nigeria Limited” in order to confirm the company’s illegal actions in Nigeria.

The tweet read;

“Binance have issued cease and desist notice to the scammer entity ‘Binance Nigeria Limited’. Don’t believe everything you read in the news.”

This comes only one week after the Securities and Exchange Commision (SEC) ruled Binance Nigeria Limited’s operations illegal in the nation.

The SEC said that the business actively pushing its web- and mobile-enabled platforms to Nigerians is neither registered with it nor subject to its rules.
