An unidentified good Samaritan who had a smartphone in hand captured footage of the officer using an official SAPS van for personal errands while he was out and about.
The officer, who is shown in the video packing goods into a marked police vehicle, is dressed casually in shorts and a t-shirt. Two minors are with him, whom social media people mistook for his children.
Others chastised the officer for abusing state resources, while some saw nothing wrong with the officer using the police van to go food shopping.
