The French Embassy in Niamey’s electricity and water supply have been shut off by the Niger Republic junta, and no food deliveries are permitted.
The junta reportedly carried out similar actions at the French consulates in Zinder, Tera, Oualam, Ayorou, Dosso, Niamey, Filingue, and everywhere else, according to the Turkish news outlet Anadolu.
According to reports, Elh Issa Hassoumi Boureima, president of the National Support Committee for the CNSP, requested all partners of the French bases in Niger to halt all fuel deliveries for water, electricity, and food.
Boureima said;
“We ask Nigelec and SPEN (SEEN)) to cut off water and electricity in the French Embassy, in the French consulates of Zinder and Niamey.
“In addition, any partners who continue to help the French in the process of supplying the goods and services will be considered enemies of the sovereign people.”
This occurs after the military junta’s two-day ultimatum for the French ambassador, Sylvain Itte, to depart Nigerien territory expired.
