Controversial lawmaker for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong has disclosed that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is bound for opposition in 2020 if it fails to advertise its achievements chalked under the current dispensation.
He observed that the party has been able to make significant strides but if the current administration feels Ghanaians have seen what they have done so far and therefore will vote for them in 2020, they must rethink because are stepping on the wrong footing.
According to him, the current administration has challenges which they must admit but said it is incumbent on the NPP to sell their achievements if they intend to continue in 2020.
“NPP is doing very well. NPP will lose the 2020 elections if it fails to sell out some of the good things it has achieved for Ghanaians to see. Make noise about the successes. It is not all we have been able to do well…if not so governance would have been easy. There are challenges which we are working on”, he disclosed on Accra-based Oman FM.
Mr. Kennedy Agyapong blamed the previous administration for the depreciation of the cedi which landed the country at the IMF because they could not manage the country and needed external hands to regulate things.
The lawmaker who weeks ago vowed not to campaign for his party 2020, also revealed that he has backed down on that decision and because the President has assured him that import duties will be reduced.
