The government of Ghana has directed the immediate recall of all Diplomatic and Service Passports issued during the previous administration. This directive, signed by Callistus Mahama, Secretary to the President, was addressed to the Chief Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday, January 14, 2025.

According to the statement, the initiative is part of President John Dramani Mahama’s efforts to streamline the issuance of official travel documents and ensure their proper use in compliance with national and international standards.
