Former President Muhammadu Buhari has revealed that he depends on rental income from one of his houses in Kaduna State to cover his feeding expenses.

Speaking at an All Progressives Congress (APC) caucus meeting held at the Presidential Banquet Hall in Katsina State, Buhari emphasized that he did not engage in corrupt practices or enrich himself during his time in office.

He noted that many Nigerians fail to grasp the complexities of governance and often criticize leaders without understanding the challenges of managing the country.

“Nigeria is a difficult country to govern, but most Nigerians are unaware. It is only when you hold an administrative position that you truly understand the complexities of leadership and the country,” he said.

The former president further disclosed details about his assets, stating, “After my eight years as a civilian president, I have only three houses—one in Daura and two in Kaduna. I rent out one of the Kaduna houses, and that is where I get money for feeding.”

Buhari reaffirmed his commitment to integrity, stating, “No one can accuse me of illicit enrichment during my presidency. I have upheld my principles of accountability and honesty throughout my career.”
