Mikki Osei Berko recently revealed that his road to stardom began with working as a disc jockey.
Professionally known as Dada Boat and fondly called Master Richard appeared on Joy FM’s “Behind The Fame” program with Sammy Forson where he opened up about his humble beginnings at a small nightclub in Accra
‘Because of the urge to do Radio, I played as a nightclub DJ. I played at Eagle Nest, I played at Golden Egg. I played at Matadore. I played at all these places’,
The celebrated ace broadcaster and actor spoke about how he managed to get a job at Radio Gold in Accra.
He intimated that he was made to play from midnight till morning at the initial stage.
Dada Boat worked effortlessly as a disc jockey making him rise to become the host of the station’s flagship Drive Time show.
Whilst as the drive time host, Dada Boat got the whole of Ghana talking with his controversial segment dubbed “Konkonsa”, where he touched on several happenings in the political and social sphere of Ghana. In one instance, Thy Will Be Done Korsivi Korsi even referred to former President John Agyekum Kufuor as the ‘sexy eyes president’.
He also featured in famous TV series ‘Taxi Driver’ and played the character known as Master Richard.
He has had stints with many radio stations in Ghana including Multimedia Broadcasting Limited owned Adom FM, Adinkra Radio, Happy FM, Kessben FM to mention a few.
