The Bolin Lana Abdulai Mahamadu has warned that he and his men will be forced to retaliate in equal measure if unprovoked attacks are launched at them during the funeral of the late Ya-Naa Yakubu Andani II, MyNewsGh.com reports

He told a team from the Yendi Municipal Security Committee (MUSEC) that paid a courtesy call on him on Thursday following the death of one Aliu Zabaha in renewed attacks.

According to him, what happened should be considered as past but issued a stern warning that if similar incident occurs during the funeral then the Abudus would strongly retaliate.

There is currently uneasy calm in the area with Police/Military patrols intensified within Yendi municipality following Thursday’s incident that claimed one life and left three persons with various degrees of injuries.

It would be recalled MyNewsGh.com reported about how 50-year-old Iddrisu Abdulai and Abdallah Samed (age 46) both of the Abudu Royal Gate were shot in the hip and thigh respectively. Both are currently receiving treatment at the Emergency Ward of Yendi Government Hospital.

One male adult was shot dead in a house belonging to the Abudus.

The series of events were sparked by an attack on the Chief of Sagnarigu and his entourage of about 20 fleet of cars and buses who were driving to the Gbewaa Palace. The youth of Yendi pelted the entourage with stones, smashing windscreens of vehicles, MyNewsGh.com learnt.

Consequently, vehicles entering or leaving Yendi township were stoned and windscreens were smashed at Zohe an area at the outskirts of Yendi on Tamale-Yendi Road. The windscreen of a Police Navara pick up was also smashed with a stone in the process.
