The search for the killers of the late investigative journalist of Tiger Eye PI, Ahmed Hussein-Suale, has yielded its first suspects.

The Ghana Police Service has announced six suspects have been arrested in connection with Suale’s killing.

The suspects have been interrogated, arraigned and all granted bail.

Director General in charge of Public Affairs at the Ghana Police Service, ACP David Eklu, disclosed this during a press briefing in Kumasi today (Thursday).

“Eyewitnesses have been interviewed and as I speak now, six suspects have been arrested, questioned and are currently on bail. In addition to that, three other persons that we believe have information relating to the murder have been questioned and have been given statement forms. We are working around the clock to get those criminals to face the full rigors of the law.” he said when asked about what the Police’s efforts have been to arrest the murderers.

Other persons of interest also interviewed by the police in relation to the case include former GFA President Kwesi Nyatankyi, Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyapong and Ahmed’s former boss at Tiger Eye PI, Anas Aremeyaw Anas.

It remains to be seen if any of the suspects the police have mentioned would be convicted for the crime. Murder cases going unsolved by the Police is nothing new in Ghana, with even high profile murders remaining unsolved many years after they occur.

Notable examples include Kwaw Kese’s former manager Fennec Okyere, the soldier lynched in Denkyira-Obuasi Adams Mahama, and former MP J.B Danquah Adu and many others. The killers of these people are still walking free and we are watching to see what the police can do this time around.
