National Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Samuel Ofosu Ampofo in a leaked tape has allegedly disclosed as part of the NDC’s strategy to regain power, target lives of some members of the NPP.
The leaked audio was from a meeting in which the Chairman addressed party members at the NDC’s Headquarters after the violence that marred the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election.
According to the Chairman, the party’s strategy in dealing with elections and security in the country will take a different turn.
“I want to assure you that as long as I remain the leader of the party, my approach for elections and security has completely changed for good. We will target some people and make them know their lives are in danger and once they know their lives are in danger, they will be careful.”
Mr. Ofosu Ampofo added that, the NDC will go on covert and overt security in dealing with issues in the country and will always be prepared.
“We need to match up all the human and material resources; we will go all out for them and go after them but not face to face. We have to go tactical and make life very uncomfortable for them. We have to probably look for our retired security people who can drive and still give protection” he stated.
Mr. Ofosu Ampofo in making these comments also reiterated former President Mahama’s boot-for-boot comment.
“There was pressure on me to change my position but I told them I will never change my position and as Mahama said when it comes to this game, we are better than them.”
