The Ghana Meteorological Agency says the rainstorm that hit the capital city, Accra on Friday will be recorded in Saltpond in the Central Region and Takoradi in the Western Region.

In a statement, the Agency said the “rainstorm that affected Accra will continue to the West and affect Saltpond and Takoradi by daybreak.”

The statement cautioned that “fishermen going out for fishing will encounter windy conditions and rain at sea.”

However, few places in the north will continue to experience thunderstorms and rain.

The storm already caused significant disruption in Kumasi on Thursday evening.

There were incidents of flooding in the metropolis during which a huge billboard collapsed and trapped some people in a vehicle.

One person was trapped in his vehicle after a giant billboard fell on it at Afful-Nkwanta in Kumasi during the downpour.

Eyewitnesses sad two people — the wife and child of the trapped victim — were rescued and rushed to the hospital.

The downpour also caused a total blackout in the city.
