Seven dead in fatal Otorkpolu-Odumase Krobo road accident

At least seven people are reported dead after a fatal accident on the Otorkpolu-Odumase Krobo road in the Eastern Region.

The deceased persons were part of a group that was reportedly returning to Akosombo from a funeral at Akim Oda in the same region aboard a VRA Daewoo bus with registration Number GV 2497-14.

the accident occurred at about 8 pm on Saturday when the driver of the vehicle lost control of the steering wheel while negotiating a curve near Ashitey.

The bus somersaulted several times before landing in a ditch.

A joint team of Police and Fire Service team from Odumase and Somanya rushed to the scene to help save the situation.

Seven persons who were sent to the Atua Government Hospital were pronounced dead while 14 others who are said to be in a critical condition are being attended to at the hospital.

Other injured persons are at the St. Martins De Porres Hospital and the Agormanya Government Hospital.
