Lawyer Francis Xavier Sosu has wondered why the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo does not seem to trust God to heal the country of the novel coronavirus scourge even though he is building a National Cathedral in fulfilment of a personal covenant with God.
The President, as part of far-reaching measures to contain the novel coronavirus, directed that all church services he suspended for the next two weeks while permitting businesses such as nightclubs to continue to operate by observe enhanced hygiene practices.
But reacting to the directives, Mr Sosu quizzed: Isn’t it strange that our President who had personal covenant with God to build him (God) a Cathedral, (for which he travelled to Israel to acquire a ‘sacred stone’ to be used as foundation for the said cathedral, could not trust that same God to heal his country… and have even gone ahead to suspend Churches over night Clubs… ah well.”
Meanwhile the directives have been met with praise from many Ghanaians who are praising the President for being decisive.
Ghana has so far recorded seven cases of the novel coronavirus. All are imported cases – patients got infected outside the country and returned.
