The Accra Regional Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Afia Tenge has confirmed the arrest of one Kenneth Amegah for setting ablaze an office space where he runs his ‘susu’ business.
Confirming this on Accra-based Angel FM, DSP Afia Tenge said Osu Police on Tuesday rescued Kenneth Amegah from the hands of some group of men who were unleashing a mob action on him at osu in Accra.
She said upon interrogation by the Police who rescued Kenneth, Kenneth Amegah, a susu collector, it was uncovered that the suspect his community had entrusted money with him with the hope of reaping some interest but he squandered the cash and instead set ablaze his office which is built with zinc.
According to the residents of the area who spoke to Angel News, they saw Kenneth sprinkling petrol and setting the office ablaze and that caught the attention of many who rushed on him.
According to them they suspect that Kenneth had squandered monies they’ve saved with him and wanted to burn all the evidence in order not to pay the monies.
DSP Afia Tenge said the case will be taken to the court so that Kenneth can be remanded in order to provide the Police with time to investigate further.
