The President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo says the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is to be blamed for luring citizens to invest their monies into dodgy schemes.

From 2016 to 2019, a number of Ghanaians have lost huge investments they made into some enterprises that were operating across the country. Such enterprises could promise investors as high as 50% return on their investments every year.

Paramount among these were DKM, MenzGold, God Is Love where investors have since 2016 had their monies locked up because owners of the enterprises were operating illegally and also running a pyramid scheme.

Recently, depositors have threatened to invade the jubilee house if the President does not fulfill his promise of paying them their locked up cash like he promised in 2016 to win their votes.

But speaking at an event which was held at the Alisa Hotel in Accra to acclaim him as the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo said over the years the NPP has been growing the economy of the country and putting in place regulations that control how things are done.

However, when the NDC comes, it does away with all regulations and open up the economy and country to all forms of scams that lured citizens into investing their monies their doggy enterprises.

He said: “We grow the economy, they shrink it. We create the properly regulated, enabling atmosphere for business to flourish, they allow chancers and speculators to lure citizens into putting their monies into doggy enterprises They bring our banks and financial services to near collapse and we’ve to clean up, shore up and restore confidence.

They plunge us into dumsor, we keep the lights on. They look on clueless as hundreds of thousands of Ghana’s children exit schools at JHS, we bring Free SHS and Free TVET to prepare our children better to face life. They resort to crude language when faced with difficult arguments, we raise the level of public discourse”.
