Former President of Ghana and flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) John Mahama has reacted to the recent disturbances of the Western Togoland secessionist group in the Volta Region.
According to John Mahama, Ghana is a sovereign republic and nobody can claim part of Ghana. Addressing the disturbances of the Western Togoland during his tour at Bono Region, he said former President Jerry John Rawlings has worked hard to bring Ghana this far and together irrespective of the tribes.
“Our father Rawlings put Ghana together. All the ethnic groups in the country make up the nation Ghana as one people hence we will not sit aloof for any group to say they want to secede” he said.
