The Bank of Ghana has no intention of printing 500 cedis Ghana notes.
A new 500 cedis note with pictures of ex-presidents in the fourth republic and current President Akufo-Addo captured in it have surfaced online.
It resembles the 50 cedis note.
But our sources at the Bank of Ghana says it has not dreamt of or have any plan of printing another higher denomination bank note.
This is not the first time such illegal bank notes have popped up.
Last year, the Bank of Ghana launched the 100 and 200 cedis higher denomination cedi bank notes to facilitate large transactions, among others.
