South Africa: 4 killed, 3 injured in road accident

Four people were killed and three others injured in a collision between a truck and a car on the N4 highway in Mpumalanga, South Africa.

Local news publication News 24 reported that the accident took place on Friday.

According to the report, ER24 spokesperson Ineke van Huyssteen said that when the paramedics arrived at the scene shortly before 18.30, they found the vehicle slightly wedged underneath the front of the truck and four patients stuck inside.

“Three people sustained fatal injuries while one was found to be in critical condition,” she said.

News 24 reported that the critically injured patient was declared dead shortly after their vital signs rapidly diminished.

The truck driver and his two passengers had minor injuries.
