The Belgian soccer club, KV Oostende, KVO has initiated procedures to dismiss international goalkeeper Fabrice Ondoa after he organized a lockdown party in his apartment in Belgium last Saturday.
According to a statement from the Belgian club published Tuesday December 15, police were called to Fabrice Ondoa’s place Saturday December 12 for noise pollution.
When they got there, they discovered he had organized a lockdown party with ten other persons who allegedly violated all COVID-19 measures.
The club adds that the police officers were verbally harassed.
“As a football club, we cannot tolerate such selfish and irresponsible behavior,” Gauthier Ganaye, CEO of the club said.
“We are relieved that we have not had a single covid infection so far and we are doing everything we can to keep it that way. That is why we always remind our players of their duties and they also assume their responsibility. The corona protocols are strictly adhered to. KVO as a club stands above the individual and given the seriousness of these facts, we therefore feel compelled to initiate the dismissal procedure against Fabrice Ondoa.”
The twenty-four-year old gaoler arrived KVO in July 2018. He played thirty matches and was yet to feature in any confrontation since the start of the new season.
