Friends and loved ones have taken to social media to mourn the death of a young married woman, Nike Ayedun, who, according to reports, was allegedly sent to her early grave by her angry husband.
According to Sahara Reporters, the woman who was a staff member of the World Bank office at Asokoro, Abuja, was allegedly crushed to death with a car by her husband, Makanjuola Ayedun, when she tried to prevent him from driving out of the compound with her cell phone.

It was also learnt that the car’s speed even carried it across the untarred road where it crashed into a building resulting in some things getting destroyed.

Mr Makajoula Ayedun according to reports tried to flee away from the scene upon realizing he has killed his wife and blamed the incident on a brake failure.

However, SaharaReporters said a source revealed that it was not an accident. A source also alleged that the man had always physically assaulted his wife.

The source said, according to the publication, “The whole issue started when Nike discovered that the safe box she had got for the purpose of saving money for her son, who demanded a huge birthday party, had been broken by her husband. She then confronted him about it. That was how the husband started beating her.

“After beating the hell out of her in the house, he collected her phone so that she could not call anyone. The man went outside and turned on his car’s engine while he came down to open gate. Nike ran to the gate demanding her phone. The husband said he would crush and kill her, and before she knew what was happening, the man knocked her down with full force while reversing the car,” the source added.

The deceased mother of two was believed to be the breadwinner in the family as her husband was unemployed at the time of writing.
