Commandant-General, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Dr Ahmed Audi, has accused some security operatives of leaking information to criminals.

Naija News reports that Audi stated this while speaking on Tuesday at the stakeholders’ summit on the protection of critical national assets and infrastructure at the NAF Conference Centre in Abuja.

He stated that traditional rulers, religious leaders and many others have to be carried along in the fight against insecurity.

“You will agree with me that the nefarious activities of these criminal elements are being strengthened not only by informants within security formations but equally those within the society; hence the need to engage our traditional rulers, religious, community, political and youth leaders in the process of finding a solution to this menace.” he said.

The NSCDC boss added that critical national assets and infrastructure in Kaduna, Zamfara, Katsina, Borno and other states of the north are at risk.

According to him, Nigeria’s security agencies need to strategize to get new methods of dealing with criminals.

He stated that this will help in the protection of national assets from assault by criminal elements.

They NSCDC boss bemoaned the spending of N60 billion annually on the repair and maintenance of vandalized oil pipelines across the country.
