South West Region Governor Benard Okalia Bilai has assured angry protesters in Buea that all implicated in the death of the 3-year-old girl this morning in Buea will pay for their action, no matter their grade.

Protesters in Buea had stormed the Governor’s Office premises chanting “500” repeatedly after a 3yrs old girl was shot by a gendarme officer.

It should be known that the 3 year old girl assassinated this morning by the gendarme officer was due to the fact that her mum had denied paying 500frs in bribe before driving off at checkpoint in Molyko, Buea..

Locals around the scene lynched the officer to death as his colleagues took to their heels.

Security forces in Buea later fired gunshots, provoking more anger among residents of the Checkpoint neighborhood and its environs. This sparked a riot in the city.

Meanwhile the minister of territorial administration; Atanga Nji Paul had earlier warned civilians against assaulting uniform men.

Speaking at a joint press conference alongside Martin Mbarga Nguele, Delegate General for National Security, Atanga Nji warning that if an individual is caught assaulting a Police Officer, they shall face the heavy arm of the Law adding that there is no point trying to escape after assaulting a police officer “because a hungry snake shall come for you in your hideout.”

After the incident in Buea, many are anxious to hear what the MINAT boss will say regarding the incident.

Its note worthy that the gruesome murder of the 3yrs old girl has also aroused suspicion that the Cameroon security forces could be responsible for the Kumba school massacre; in which several pupils were killed.

Whatever be the case, our ears are still on the ground, we shall bring you more information as the story unfolds…

Below is a video which shows the governor of the South West region assuring the residents of Buea.
