Former President John Dramani Mahama has hit back at Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia in a reflection of how the then opposition criticized his regime on taxation in the run-up to the 2016 elections.
Mr Mahama posted an old video of an interview by Bawumia on Facebook where he[Bawumia] amply condemned the Mahama government on imposing taxes on “anything taxable that can feasibly be taxed”
“When you become desperate this is what happens and when you mismanage the economy into this hole anything sounds great to you because you don’t have any option,” the then running mate Bawumia said in an interview on Joy Fm.
But it appears the tables have turned for the 2020 Flagbearer of the NDC, and has taken a field day in a barrage of criticisms against the NPP government vis-à-vis the unpopular “Electronic Transaction Levy” or “E-Levy” of 1.75 percent on electronic transactions.
He captioned his post “Hmm, Talk is indeed cheap”.
