The Nigerian Army has killed Otobong Moses, also known as Otoabasi, a notorious criminal and gang boss in Akwa Ibom State.
According to AdvertAfrica.net, Otoabasi was killed by troops from the 2 Brigade Nigerian Army during a raid on his hideout at Obon Ebot in the state’s Etim Ekpo Local Government Area.

Captain Samuel Akari, Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, 2 Brigade Nigerian Army, confirmed the development in a statement on Thursday, adding that the soldiers also destroyed the hideout.

Soldiers found weapons and ammunition from his hideout, including a Sub Machine Gun and magazine with 67 rounds of 9mm ammunition, two motorcycles, 16 cellphones, one AK-47 rifle magazine with 30 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, and nine machetes.

Two military monkey coats, one helmet strapped with a military camouflage outfit, two pairs of military camouflage uniforms, one military pullover, an ATM card, two TV sets, a standing fan, decoder, and four generator sets were among the things confiscated during the operation.

Two kidnap victims were recovered from the hideout, and three of Otoabasi’s accomplices were also apprehended by the army, according to Akari.

Residents in the vicinity were assured of their safety, and the Army officer encouraged them to go about their regular business without worry.
