President Muhammadu Buhari has denounced the attack on the St Francis Catholic Church in Owo, Ondo State, which resulted in the deaths of many people.
The assailants reportedly exploded explosives before opening fire on the congregation, according to the Los Angeles Times.
Buhari stated “only fiends from the nether region could have devised and carried out such a wicked conduct” in a statement posted by his spokesperson Femi Adesina on Sunday, June 5.
He also expressed his condolences to the bereaved families, the state of Ondo, and the Catholic community.
The declaration was as follows:
“President Muhammadu Buhari has denounced the horrific massacre of worshippers at the St Francis Catholic Church on Owa-luwa Street in Owo Kingdom, Ondo State, on Sunday.”

“Only fiends from the nether zone could have imagined and carried out such a heinous act, according to the president, who adds that they will face eternal suffering both here on earth and in the afterlife.”
“President Buhari expresses his condolences to the victims’ families, the Catholic Church, and the government of Ondo State, and calls on emergency services to respond quickly and provide aid to the injured.”
