Claims that former president John Agyekum Kufuor supported Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as a prospective candidate for the position of New Patriotic Party flagbearer have been refuted.
“The Office of Former President John Kufuor has been made aware of inaccurate reports that have appeared in several media outlets, particularly on social media, claiming that President Kufuor has chosen one candidate for the NPP flagbearership over several others who have expressed interest in running.
This office wishes to categorically deny that any such endorsement occurred on the relevant occasion and regrets that what happened has been gravely misinterpreted “Senior Aide and Spokesman Dr. Kwabena Osei-Adubofour issued a statement.
