According to information obtained by advertafrica.net, the pressure group Arise Ghana has used tear gas to disperse the protest that is still going on.

There is reportedly tension on the premises, despite the fact that it is unknown what may have caused the action.

The Kwame Nkrumah Interchange road is currently closed and empty of both people and vehicles.

Some protesters may be seen throwing stones at the police officers in videos taken on the scene. Some vehicles, including a police van that was packed on the wayside, suffered significant damages as well.

Three demonstrators from the ongoing Arise Ghana Demonstration have been detained by the Ghana Police Service in the interim.

The three were allegedly apprehended for their part in the mayhem that derailed the protest.
