Even if the government side offers them 19.9% of the cost-of-living allowance, the Coalition of Concern Teachers Ghana (CCTGH) National General Secretary has stated that they will refuse it.
Speaking yesterday on UTV, the National General Secretary of CCTGH indicated that in order to negotiate 4% pay increases, some teaching union leaders needed security for themselves and their families.

“This time, we are being extremely cautious in our actions. Even if the government offers us 19.9 percent, we will reject it because the threat we have been receiving from some of our coworkers is too great, he added.
He added that fighting for the rights of the teachers is necessary to avoid endangering their life and the lives of their families.
Tomorrow, July 12, 2022, the government and the various unions in the public sector will meet to discuss the cost-of-living allowance for employees.
