The plane, a Fokker 50, is upside down in photos taken at the scene after firefighters quenched the flames.

There were more than 30 persons on board the jet when it crashed and overturned upon landing at the airport in the capital of Somalia.

Dramatic footage taken in Mogadishu close to the airport shows a plume of black smoke rising over the accident scene.

The plane, a Fokker 50, is upside down in photos taken at the scene after firefighters quenched the flames.

According to officials, it belonged to Jubba Airways and was an internal flight from the city of Baidoa to the capital.

According to airport officials cited by state media, the passengers and the crew were all saved.

The crash’s origin is still unknown.
