Because President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo no longer pays attention to God, the Rev. Isaac Owusu Bempah has said that he no longer has a close contact with the president. In an interview that was uploaded on RTV Ghana’s YouTube page, the preacher known as “The Nation’s Prophet” is heard bemoaning how Akufo-attitude Addo’s toward spiritual matters has deteriorated.
Bempah stated that he followed the instructions that God gave him at the time when he was asked whether it was a mistake for him to have supported the President spiritually during his time in opposition.
He suggested that he was Samuel, a man simply instructed by God to anoint His chosen one, and that his current connection with the president was analogous to that of Saul and Samuel in the Bible.
While Akufo-Addo represented Saul, the chosen one who disobeyed God and suffered hardships.
“When Samuel was asked to anoint Saul as president, things did not go smoothly; they were difficult. This was due to Saul’s growing stubbornness and his refusal to listen to Samuel and God. As a result, Samuel cut off contact with Saul.
“I perceive that the pure heart for which God chose Akufo-Addo has changed. At one point, Samuel sought to interfere, but God told him to back off because Saul had demonstrated disobedience.
He no longer pays attention to God, and the prayers that priests used to offer for him are no longer accepted by him. Therefore, if you compare him to Saul, it is the same thing; Samuel was only given the order to anoint Saul because God had chosen him, he said.
