Paul Ibe, the media adviser for PDP presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, has criticized the Bola Tinubu Campaign Organization for several of the issues it brought up.
The Tinubu Campaign Organization previously declared that it was astonished by the PDP’s presidential candidate’s many lies and ignorance revealed during an interview with Arise TV.
When the former vice president opted to pursue other commercial interests as a young Custom Officer, the organization claimed that he had violated terms of the 1999 constitution.
Atiku’s assistant responded in a statement to Advertafrica.net by expressing amusement at what he called the Tinubu Campaign Organization’s “knee jerk reaction” to the “wave making interview granted by Waziri Atiku Abubakar to Arise TV.”
Bola Tinubu was made fun of by Ibe, who claimed that the former governor had no excuse for refusing to sit down for a protracted interview.
He claimed that Nigerians have seen him speak in public and could determine for themselves why he is embarrassed to give a lengthy interview.
Atiku’s aide stated: “By citing the provisions of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Constitution (as amended) 1999 to declare Waziri Atiku Abubakar’s position on engaging in a side business while he was a young custom officer as a violation of the law, the Tinubu campaign exposed its gross desperation and vacuousness. It is important to inform the Tinubu campaign group that Nigeria does not have a military government and that our constitutions are not intended to be retroactive.
“Once more, the Tinubu campaign demonstrated either dishonesty or a disregard for detail by asserting that Atiku Abubakar stated that oil accounted for 20% of Nigeria’s GDP. This is false. The Waziri stated, “Oil only perhaps accounts for approximately 20% of our GDP.”
“The Waziri’s usage of the word “maybe” was a response to the various figures provided. Other international organizations have provided a substantially higher value of between 15-20 percent, but the Nigerian Bureau of Statistics states a level close to 10 percent. So it is OK to classify the contribution of oil and gas as a maybe while the evidence is still inconclusive. We would want to draw attention to the fact that Waziri Atiku Abubakar did not neglect to mention the PDP or the APC during the conversation.
It appears that the Tinubu campaign organization (can a disorganized group be called an organization?) is unaware of what rotation of power and micro zoning are. We’ll gladly teach them as a result. Power is divided between the North and the South according to a constitutional clause known as rotation of power. Micro-zoning is a non-constitutional concept in which power is divided among geopolitical zones rather than between the North and the South. We hope that this will cure the authors of that document’s political ignorance.
In the impolite reply, Waziri Atiku Abubakar is also accused of having “little education.” An Anglia Ruskin University master’s degree has been earned by Atiku Abubakar. We demand an equivalent or greater degree from any current presidential candidates. Additionally, his presence at the university has been confirmed in the past. Can we make the same claim about other people?
“We fear that Tinubu’s campaign is disorganized and a poor student of history when it comes to President Lincoln. Lincoln did really run for president twice, with his name appearing on both ballots. He attempted to run at other times, but was unsuccessful in doing so.
He challenges Bola Tinubu to sit down for an hour-long interview, just like Atiku did, and offers to talk to the former governor of Lagos State if he can be as intelligent and alert as the PDP candidate.
In the meantime, Atiku’s aide said, “We merely want to remind him and his yes men that they are not in a position to point fingers when they have not been on the hot seat.”
