The All Progressives Congress (APC), which is currently in power, has said that challenging Senator Ademola Adeleke’s election as governor of Osun State on July 16 is a waste of time.
The former congressman asserted in a statement on Saturday that the lawsuit brought up to challenge his triumph is “dead on arrival.”
He revealed this while addressing at the Ijebu-Jesa headquarters of the Oriade local government, when Dr. Wale Bolorunduro, a former commissioner for finance under Aregbesola’s administration, officially switched to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Adeleke stressed that the state’s citizens had spoken and that no amount of legal proceedings can reverse his election as governor.
He asserts that he is more concerned with how to advance Osun and guarantees a significant influence within the first 100 days of taking office.
“The election was free and fair, and everyone knew it. APC are merely idly idling their time. They have the right to do so, but I can assure you that it will be lost in court, Adeleke stated.
“Osun voters who supported us heavily should remain calm and concerned. This time, the Osun people have spoken, and it is God’s will.
“The only thing I’m worried about right now is how to make Osun great, and I promise that Osun State will witness a major shift in my first 100 days in office.”
