Following his admission that he had slept with his three biological daughters, a 60-year-old man underwent a purification rite at Assin Andoe in the Assin South District of the Central Region.

Myjoyonline.com reports that the traditional chiefs fined Opanin Kwame Atta, also known as Showboy, GHC12,000 and confiscated five fully grown lambs, crates of different drinks, and bottles of exotic schnapps for purifying ceremonies.
Due to financial difficulties, he was only able to raise GHC 8,000, and he further begged to only pay for four of the five lambs that were required of him.
On Wednesday, August 3, Nana Atta Banafo III, the area’s chief, had called him to the palace after allegations of incest.
Showboy begged for forgiveness after confessing to sleeping with his daughters, who were reportedly in their 20s.
Assin Andoe’s linguist, Nana Yaw Oteng, told media that although Atta had been having sex with his daughters for years, they had kept quiet about the sacrilegious relationship out of fear that their father would kill them.
The family suffered for months from a peculiar ailment for which they were unable to find a remedy before the mystery was revealed.
The traditional authorities have performed their ritual cleaning, but because incest is a crime in Ghana that is punished by law, they have reported the incident to the Assin South Police for inquiry and prosecution.
The identities of the incestuous conduct victims have been kept secret, presumably to prevent stigmatization and bullying.
