In the Choma District’s Batoka, a 42-year-old man has hauled his girlfriend to court for assault.

According to the court reporter for Byta FM, Simon Miselo has filed a lawsuit against Clara Chunga, a 40-year-old businesswoman from Village Simanasa in Batoka.

The plaintiff testified in court during the trial that took place before the Choma Magistrate Court that on July 22, 2022, he went to the J1 nightclub in Batoka to drink beer when he observed the defendant.

He said that when he went up to the defendant to confront her about why she was spreading rumors about him dating a specific woman, she reacted violently.

The defendant trailed behind the door bouncer as he was being led out of the club, and the plaintiff claimed in court that he was struck with a bottle and knocked out.

He added that after being taken to the Batoka police station, he sought medical assistance.

the second witness as well Simata Mwaangala, a resident of Simanasa in Batoka, stated in court that he was there at the club when the incident took place but was not present to see it.

Mwaangala, 42, claimed that as he sipped his beer, he noticed individuals carrying buckets of water leaving the club. When he inquired, he was informed that there had been a brawl outside.

The plaintiff had blood all over his head as the witness rushed outside, the witness said, and he rushed him to the police station.

Senior Magistrate Peter Mungala has since postponed the case to August 24, 2022, to allow for the trial to continue.
