An outspoken private attorney named Maurice Ampaw has insulted Menzgold clients while they wait for the prosecution of the company’s CEO, Nana Appiah Mensah, also known as NAM 1 by the government.
After asserting that the former CEO of Menzgold “never committed any criminal” in his field of employment, he mockingly said, “They will wait for long.”
Maurice Ampaw agreed with Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-assertion Danquah’s that it is getting harder to collect evidence to prosecute NAM 1. Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah is the Executive Director of the Economic and Organized Crimes Office (EOCO).
Nothing is a crime until it is declared such by law, according to the EOCO chairman.
Sometimes, while knowing that someone has broken the law, you cannot prove your case, she said.
“The Menzgold case is one illustration. What statute or law did he violate? Because no statute will specify the offense, it is getting harder even to prosecute the case, according to the EOCO chairman.
Speaking on NEAT FM’s “Ghana Montie” morning show, Maurice Ampaw, who goes under the moniker “proud Menzgold customer,” praised the EOCO CEO for “telling the customers the painful truth.”
He claimed that NAM 1 was “too sophisticated” to fulfill all legal standards to support his job, making it legitimate.
“Before he launched his business, his lawyers handled everything for him, he alleged.
Including that “His work was open and honest, and his company has no criminal histories.
Even customers signed contracts in order to profit. What wrongdoing did he actually commit? He inquired.
