Kenyans are casting their ballots in some places where voting had been delayed due to mistakes on the ballots.

No incidents have been reported thus far, and polling places are already open.

In fiercely contested elections, residents of Mombasa county on the coast and Kakamega in the west are choosing new governors.

Additionally, the electorate will choose representatives for the four constituencies of Kacheliba and Pokot South (West Pokot county), Rongai (Nakuru county), and Kitui Rural (Kitui county).

On Monday, two county assembly representative positions will also be filled.

Election personnel were allegedly intimidated and harassed, according to the head of the electoral commission, after the elections were originally delayed for August 23.

On August 9, Kenyans cast ballots in a national election.
