The video depicts the chiefs lining up to give the late Queen of England, her husband, the Duke of Edinburgh, and Prince Philip their gifts of gold when they visited Cape Coast in 1961.
This footage was captured at a durbar attended by chiefs and other dignitaries for the Queen and her husband in the former Gold Coast capital.
The British monarchs is shown in the movie receiving various gold artifacts, including a solid gold miniature palanquin that is said to as the major gift from the Fante chiefs.
A wonderfully wrought solid gold tiny gold sword and linguist’s staff were also presented to Queen Elizabeth.
