With a new Big Brother program, MultiChoice Group is shaking things up. SA and Big Brother Naija are involved this time. South Africans and Nigerians will share a house.
At the MultiChoice Media Showcase event in Lagos on Thursday, John Ugbe, CEO of Multichoice Nigeria, said this.
He added that the show will be happening “sometime next year”, so, fingers crossed.
Beginning in early 2023, Big Brother Naija and Big Brother Mzansi will compete against one another in a “all-stars” matchup that will feature the victors of both programs’ prior seasons from South Africa and Nigeria.
After five seasons of Big Brother Mzansi, the first two of which were dubbed Big Brother SA, and seven seasons of Big Brother Naija in Nigeria, MultiChoice and M-Net are trying to create a show called Big Brother Face-Off that will combine the previous competitors of both countries’ versions.
““In 2023, we’ll be starting the year off with a bang, which will be the giants of Africa coming together on the Big Brother version of South Africa against Nigeria,” says Nomsa Philiso, MultiChoice’s head of programming.
We know how great Big Brother Mzansi and Big Brother Naija perform, but we just felt that it was time to combine the two, so this has been a fantastic, incredible feat for us. That excites us, and we simply believe it will be fantastic.
